11 Days Authentic Safari in Kenya

Upon arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), you will be met and greeted by Reflect Of Africa Tours and Travel’s representatives in their traditional style, before being transferred to your city hotel. An hour after checking, you will be taken on a city orientation tour that takes you through the central business district to view the shopping areas, parliament buildings, and many of Nairobi’s modern and historical buildings.
The city tour will also take you to places of interest such as the View Point to get a panoramic view of the city, National Museums of Kenya, the famous snake park, and the colorful city market. The rest of the day will be spent at leisure at the hotel. You will have dinner with performance and stay overnight at the Hilton Nairobi Hotel.

In the morning, you will depart from Nairobi and drive through Kikuyu countryside to the lower slopes of Mount Kenya. You will arrive at Serena Mountain Lodge (tree hotel) in time for lunch. The transit time is approximately 3 hours.

You can relax in the afternoon as you watch game from the balcony of the lodge for an overnight floodlit game viewing. There is also an optional guided nature or forest walk. After that, you will have dinner and stay overnight at the tree hotel.

After breakfast, you will depart and drive further north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve. The transit time is approximately 3 hours. You will arrive at Samburu Lodge in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive afterwards. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

The full day activities will be spent in Samburu National Reserve, with an early morning and late afternoon game drives. Samburu is a beautiful and game abundant park. It is home to rarely found species such as the beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich, and reticulated giraffe. Optional activities include a visit to a local Samburu village, camel riding, and guided nature and bird walks. You will enjoy all meals and stay overnight at Samburu Lodge.

On this day, you will depart Samburu after breakfast and drive back to the lower slopes of Mount Kenya. The transit time is approximately 3 hours. You will arrive at Sweetwaters Tented Camp in time for lunch.

You will have an afternoon game drive in the private sanctuary (Sweetwaters Game Reserve) and visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya. You will also visit Morani, the tame rhino, and the Visitors Information Centre. Then, you will return to Sweetwaters Tented Camp for your dinner and overnight stay (with an optional night game drive).

After breakfast, you will drive down to the floor of the Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru National Park, and make a brief stop at Thomson’s Falls in Nyahururu. The transit time is approximately 3 hours. You will arrive at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch, which is followed by an afternoon game drive in the park.

Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approximately 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Many species of game including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffes, black and white rhinos, waterbucks, reedbucks, lions, buffalos, leopards, baboons, and many species of plains game can also be found in the park. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

You will enjoy another morning game drive in Nakuru before departing for Naivasha and arrive at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. The transit time is approximately 1 and a half hour.

You will also experience an afternoon boat ride on Lake Naivasha and a walking safari in Crescent Island, one of the few places in the world where one can wander on foot amidst wild animals since there are no predators, before returning to Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will depart and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara. You will arrive at Sarova Mara Tented Camp in time for lunch. The transit time is approximately 5 hours. Then, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive as you get a feel of this vast game filled reserve. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the camp.

You will spend these two days in Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, and elephants).

On the first day, you will go out with picnic lunch boxes to spend most of the day in the park, coming back to the lodge late afternoon. While on the second day, you will have an early morning pre-breakfast game drive and another one in the late afternoon. There will also be an optional visit to a local Maasai village. You will enjoy all meals and stay overnight at Sarova Mara Tented Camp.

After breakfast, you will depart from Maasai Mara and drive back to Nairobi to arrive approximately at 13:00. The transit time is approximately 5 and a half hours.You will be dropped at your hotel or be transferred to the airport for your onward flight home. End of the services.
