7 Days Climbing and Safari in Mount Kenya, Kenya

Arrive at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) where you will be received by the company’s representative and transferred to your city hotel. Depending on your arrival time, a Nairobi City tour will be organized for you to have an opportunity to visit the central business center, parliament buildings, Conference Center (KICC), and many mordant and historical buildings.

You will also have the chance to visit the Giraffe Center or National Museum of Kenya and famous Snake Park. Dinner and overnight in the budget hotel.

You will be picked up from the hotel around 9:00 a.m. in Nairobi, drive for about three hours to Nanyuki town, and arriving in time for lunch. Check in the hotel, after afternoon rest, your guide will pick you in the evening for a walk around the town for acclimatization while viewing the mountain. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, your guide will pick you at your hotel around 9:30 a.m., get transferred to Sirimon park gate (2600 meters), where the trekking starts. This is three to four hours walk to Old Moses camp (3300 meters), lunch will be served en route. Summary of the day, dinner, and overnight in the camp.

This is a long day, you will have breakfast early in the morning around 7:00 a.m., and start your trek with picnic lunch, it is advisable to drink a lot of water and walk “pole pole” during the hike to avoid mountain sickness. Dinner and overnight at the Shipton camp (4200 meters).

This is a very beautiful day, after breakfast get ready for a semi circuit via Hursburg, whereby you will have a great view of the three peaks in Mount Kenya and beautiful lakes and vegetation. Lunch will be served on the way, then proceed to Markinders camp for early dinner and overnight.

Wake up around 2:30 a.m., after a cup of tea, get ready to attempt Pt Lenana via Austrian hut. Arriving in time for sunrise, after mountain view and taking photos, get back to Markinders camp for breakfast, rest about one hour, then descend down to met station for lunch, and further down to Narumoru park gate where you will say goodbye to porters and the mountain. Transport will be waiting to drive you in Nairobi at your hotel for dinner and overnight where this tour ends!

Depending on your departure time, you can go for a game drive at Nairobi National Park, or David Sheldrick farm, an orphanage for baby elephants, or an African Market. Then, you will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for your departure.
